Make Your Perfect Polar Pal!

Get the kids involved with simple blanket stitches and running stitch! For those of you who don’t want to add embroidery details, you can simply glue the face features and the fish onto the main body using craft glue. If you are making this felt polar bear stuffie for children under 3, we would recommend using black felt circles for the eyes rather than buttons or beads. Look on the right hand side for tools, materials, pattern and felt bear tutorial 🙂

Tips For Success!

Felt is a lovely material to work with but if you’re new to it, we have some tips to help you achieve this adorable DIY with ease! We recommend using wool felt for a soft, professional finish. Once you have downloaded the pattern, use chalk or a pencil crayon to draw around the pattern onto your felt. Use sharp fabric scissors to cut out the pattern and make sure to cut just inside the chalk line. Complete all the stitching before assembling the felt bear stuffie – you can find our tips and techniques for embroidery here.

When you are stuffing your felt polar bear, use more poly-fill than you think you will need! Break the poly-fill into small, manageable pieces and push into the stuffie bit by bit. We use a pencil or wooden dowel to push our stuffing right into the corners of our little bear. Feel free to play with your color palette here – if your bear wants a bright green scarf then go for it!
